Student Development

The Department of African, African American, and Diaspora Studies is committed to

furthering student development at UNC Chapel Hill.

The Department offers several opportunities throughout the academic year, including:

• Annual Undergraduate Research Conference

• Annual Professional & Career Development Day for AAAD Majors
  
  • Next workshop to be held on February 17, 2018

• Student-Faculty Working Groups
  • These working groups are convened and meetings are held during the spring semester each year. The Working Group themes vary each year; the theme for the 2017 Working Group, for example, was “Black Feminism”. The Working Group theme for 2018 will be announced in the coming weeks.

• Our academic journal, the Global Africana Review
